DRAWING TREES is the outcome of various requests from urban sketcher friends for tips on how to draw trees. So I assembled all the different tree types and mark types I could find. Each example is shown alongside the original drawing and is annotated with info regarding paper, tools and time taken.

This booklet contains some of my own work as well as the work of other illustrators which, in the days before computers, I photocopied and kept in a folder as a personal drawing library for daily working purposes which included a significant amount of architecture and urban design illustration. The sources of much of the photocopied work was rarely recorded. Where possible, I’ve since identified sources via the internet. Courtesy of the internet, I’ve also added drawings from a number of illustrators whose work I admired at one time or another.
